Mahou no Tenshi Creamy Mami (魔法の天使クリィミーマミ) is a 1983 magical girl show by Studio Pierrot, which is famous for its magical girl anime series. The main character is a 11 year old girl Morisawa Yuu who gets a magic stick which enables her to transform into a teenager girl, Creamy Mami. As Creamy Mami she soon becomes a famous pop idol, even her Parents and closest friends don't know about her double identity. Takada Akemi, also creator of such famous shows like Kimagura Orange Road, Maison Ikkoku and Urusey Yatsura, goes back in time now and presents her 'Memories of a magical world' to her fans. Even without several pages of explanations, this wonderful Artbook immediately creates a magical world just by enjoying these beautiful pictures of Creamy Mami and her friends. On the last pages you get some information, but only to some selected drawings and a short resumme of all Creamy Mami publications. For Creamy Mami now is actually some piece of animation history that influenced a lot of other famous show like Pretty Sammy, it is not necessary to say too much about the series. The pictures tell you a lot more than any words could do... Takada Akemis is famous for giving to her characters very sweet trains and let them look like little maidens. But actually 'Angels' is the first thing that comes up your mind when you look at 'her girls' and they are touching you deep inside with their innocent looks -- but they are never ever vulgar in any way. These characters are so natural pure and kind, but also make their way on their own. It is no wonder, that they are role-models for a lot of young girls. Sometimes Takadas drawings seem to be on the edge to become slushy, but she always can keep it to be her own style. You just need one look to identify her works and that's very rare in such a big animation and manga industry nowadays. I think, this is what makes even a lot of boys appreciate Takada Akemis work on Creamy Mami. It's a book of 84 pages full of great pictures where every single one is fascinating, this seems to be the final Creamy Mami book.
